About the Journal
Global Business Diplomacy is a peer-reviewed, open-access international academic journal dedicated to advancing the strategic and interdisciplinary field at the intersection of international business and international relations. As the first scholarly journal of its kind, it offers a platform for rigorous analysis and critical discussion on how state and non-state actors—including multinational corporations (MNCs), businesses and associations, government agencies, international organizations, and civil society—engage in structured, deliberate, and mutually beneficial interactions to advance economic interests, manage cross-border commercial risks, and foster sustainable international partnerships. The journal explores how MNCs operate within complex geopolitical landscapes through diplomatic negotiation, strategic relationship management, and cooperative problem-solving, even amid regulatory, political, and cultural challenges.
Global Business Diplomacy seeks to inform not only academic debate but also strategic decision-making among diplomats, corporate leaders, and international institutions. Its mission is to shape the future of how diplomacy and business interact to build cooperative, resilient, and ethically grounded global economic systems.
Global business diplomacy, as both a practice and a concept, integrates corporate engagement with national and global diplomatic strategies, serving as a dual-purpose instrument that facilitates corporate internationalization while reinforcing a country’s soft power and strategic economic positioning. Published bi-annually in July and December, the journal invites original contributions in form of theoretical insights, systematic literature reviews, case studies, or empirical research using different methodology and perspectives from scholars, policymakers, and practitioners working across business, diplomacy, government, law, information, communication and technology, and education sectors.
